The interior pattern on this earthenware jelly mould is the thing that catches you first. Pressed into the clay to produce a raised, detailed design once turned out, it's the kind of detail that made a Victorian table worth gathering around.

Dating to around 1900, jelly moulds like this were everyday working objects in a well-run household kitchen. They were used for set jellies, blancmanges, and cold puddings, and the better ones were kept and used for generations. This one has that satisfying weight and solidity that modern kitchenware simply doesn't replicate.

There's honest age-related wear consistent with genuine use, which is exactly what you'd hope for in a piece like this. Nothing that detracts, everything that adds.

It sits naturally on a kitchen shelf, a pantry ledge, or grouped with other period ceramics. A small but genuinely characterful piece of English domestic history.
