Frequently Asked Questions
Good, honest condition. These are genuine antiques that have lived real lives, and we photograph and describe them as such. Patina, wear, and the occasional repair are part of what makes them worth owning. We will always flag anything notable so there are no surprises.
Only when a piece genuinely needs it, and we will always say so in the listing. Our preference is to leave things as we found them. Original finishes tell the best stories.
Not only normal, expected. A piece that has been around for a century or more should show it. We see worn edges and faded patina as evidence of a life well lived, not something to apologise for.
All furniture ships white glove with specialist carriers who know how to handle antiques. Your piece will arrive wrapped and be brought into your home and placed exactly where you want it. We coordinate everything after purchase.
Smaller items typically leave us within a few business days. Furniture deliveries are arranged with a freight carrier and usually arrive within one to three weeks depending on where you are. We stay in touch throughout so you always know where things stand.

On select higher value pieces, yes. Reach out to us directly before purchasing and we will work something out together.
Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. A good beeswax or furniture oil applied occasionally will feed the wood and deepen the patina beautifully over time. Avoid anything harsh or chemical based.
A soft cloth and a brass specific cleaner will keep brass looking its best without damaging the surface. Cast iron does well with a light coat of oil to keep rust at bay. Neither needs much, just a little attention now and then.
That is exactly what it was made for. British antique furniture was built with craft and intention, and most pieces are entirely functional. If something is purely decorative or needs special handling, we will say so in the listing.
