In Victorian England, a beautifully set table was everything, and a fluted blancmange mould like this one sat right at the heart of it. Wobbly, ornate jellies were a genuine mark of domestic pride in the 1880s, and this petal-interior mould would have produced exactly that kind of showstopper dessert.

Pieces like this came from English potteries that supplied everyday households with affordable, well-made kitchenware. The scalloped interior is crisp and well-defined, with minor age-related wear and light patina that speak honestly to its working life.

It displays beautifully on a kitchen dresser or open shelf, and sits naturally alongside transferware, ironstone, or other Victorian kitchenalia.
