A linen press with this much interior space and original hardware intact is a genuinely useful find. Two panelled doors open to a full hanging rail above two deep drawers below, with original cast iron cup handles that have aged beautifully alongside the pine.
Built around 1900, when furniture like this was the backbone of the English household bedroom. Solid construction throughout, with the kind of joinery that simply does not show up in modern pieces.
The pine has a pale, natural tone that has been stripped back at some point, giving it a lighter, more contemporary feel than most Victorian pieces of this type. It works particularly well in a room that mixes old and new without leaning too hard in either direction.
The interior is clean and generous. The drawers pull well and the doors sit true.
It works as a wardrobe, a linen store, or a media cabinet with some minor adaptation. A piece this size and this honest rarely comes up in this condition.
