Roses, scrollwork, and that particular shade of cobalt that English potters just seemed to get right. A full cluster of blooms fills the centre, wrapped in an elaborate repeating border of scrolls and floral accents that carries real decorative weight.
John Tams operated out of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent for generations, producing earthenware that balanced everyday durability with genuine decorative quality. This pattern, Blue Flowers and Scrolls on White, has since been discontinued, making surviving pieces increasingly hard to come by.
Good condition throughout, with minor age-related wear that only adds to its honest character. Display it on a dresser or prop it on a shelf alongside other blue and white pieces for an effortlessly collected look.
