Grimwades knew how to make a jelly mould feel like an occasion. This ironstone example features a beautifully detailed clam shell interior, so every turned-out jelly arrived at the table looking like it came straight from the sea.

The Grimwade brothers built their Staffordshire pottery into one of Victorian England's most respected kitchenware names, producing ironstone pieces prized for their satisfying weight and warm, creamy finish. This mould is exactly that, solid, well-made, and clearly well-used over its long life.

There are a few minor nicks along the rim, honest evidence of a century of real kitchen use, and they only add to its character.

It displays beautifully on a shelf and pairs naturally with other Victorian kitchenalia or simple, unfussy interiors.
