All 50 Cope's Golfers cigarette cards, framed together as a complete set, this is the kind of thing collectors spend years tracking down. Originally issued in 1900 by Cope Brothers & Co., each card features a hand-painted illustration by the wonderfully named George Pipeshank, capturing famous golfers and historical figures of the sport with real Victorian personality. The set was professionally framed around 1980 and has spent its life quietly behind glass. The cards remain vivid, with the gentle warmth of age but no loss of detail or character. It belongs equally in a study, a library, or a golf room, anywhere that appreciates a good story told in miniature.
