Spode's "Italian" pattern has been beloved since the early 1800s, and this square plate shows exactly why. The blue and white transfer print depicts a pastoral landscape of ruins and a castle, rendered with the quiet confidence that made Copeland Spode a cornerstone of English ceramic tradition.
The square format is less common than the standard round, giving it a slightly more formal presence whether displayed on a shelf or set at a table. Marked to the back, consistent with early 20th century Copeland Spode production.
There are two small surface nicks, honest signs of age rather than anything that diminishes the piece. It sits beautifully alongside other blue and white ceramics or holds its own displayed solo.
